For the next week, the iconic Michigan Central Station will be draped in color as Ford Motor Company takes us through the 105-year history of the building and gives a glimpse of the future. From roaring trains, dancing couples in the windows, graffiti images coming to life, all tied to a soundtrack, the show is a technical marvel.
The viewing area includes fire pits, s’mores, and a warming tent with Train Station artifacts, historical photos, a gift shop, drinks, and more.
When you have had enough of the light show, check out some of the many great Corktown area restaurants, bars, and brew pubs on Grazing Detroit’s List. We stopped in at the nearby Cork & Gable which opened just a month ago and has large windows looking out on to the Train Station. A great spot if you want to get out of the cold.
The 10-day Winter Festival runs through January 27, 2019.
