Historic Detroit Club open to public

The Detroit Club’s Grille Room restaurant is like taking a trip back in time. The recently renovated club opened its first floor restaurant in 2018, making for a fantastic upscale dining experience.

Perfect over the holiday season or anytime of year, award winning Chef Kirk McKinney presents “French inspired American fare” including a variety of steaks, duck, seafood, and plentiful starters.

The experience is special. For starters, the building was originally opened in 1892 and was a private club to automotive industry barons and Detroit businessmen. Today, open to the public, the finely decorated building, with its ornate chandeliers, beautiful woodwork, tile work, and period furniture feels like your walking through a museum. Not to mention, the food and service are top notch.

While there is a bar in the Grille Room, guest can also enjoy the Cigar Bar with select cigars and beverages.

The Detroit Club is in our Fine Dining category and received a 4 out of 5 rating “4-Definitely Going Back” and if we go back enough, it may very well drift to a 5!
